WW2 GOODYEAR FARMER'S HANDBOOKNEW TORONTO, ONTARIO
The Care and Repair Of Farm Machinery
As any farmer will tell you, field work gets done faster and a whole lot easier when equipment is in top working order. This thought was especially important during the World War II years, when this 68-page booklet was printed by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company of Canada , in New Toronto, Ontario (west Toronto), to support Canadian farmers.
The handbook is introduced by a letter from Canada's Wartime Prices and Trade Board, and by another message which reminds the reader that "there never was a time when it was more necessary to get maximum performance out of existing equipment." These were the days when old machinery, which might ordinarily be replaced, had to be kept running. Filled from front to back with handy information and photo/diagram illustrations, the booklet focuses on the proper care, maintenance and operation of the more important types of farm machinery.
Measures approx. 5 7/8" x 8 3/4"
One of the pictures included with this description shows the index page, and the wide range of field machines examined. Prepared with the help of agricultural experts of the time, the booklet is easy to follow yet very thorough.
Very good vintage preowned condition.
This copy is in clean condition showing little wear from age/past handling.
Complete and intact with no loose pages, securely bound by two staples at the spine.
A drilled hole at the top left of the cover was put there by the printer so that the booklet could be hung up in a handy place at the farm.
